Fort Collins Roofing: Energy Efficiency Goes Beyond our Local Breweries

Fort Collins Roofing: Energy Efficiency Goes Beyond our Local Breweries In a town know for our breweries, it naturally made news when city officials announced plans for a clean energy initiative in collaboration New Belgium Brewing and Odell Brewing Co. The sustainability program will promote home energy efficiency to employees of both companies. At Elite Roofing, we are proud members of the community, leaders in the Fort Collins roofing industry and we enjoy patronizing our local breweries; this story naturally resonated with us as well.

New Belgium Brewing + Odell Brewing + Energy Efficiency

Known as HomeWise, the program is designed to not only help employees participate in Fort Collins Utilities energy and water conservation programs, but it will also help them understand how their usage stacks up to their fellow community members. A part of a larger effort to reduce emissions in Fort Collins by 2020, the city is also collaborating with Vermont Energy Investment Corp. to pilot the project. City officials, along with the leadership teams at New Belgium Brewing and Odell Brewing Co., hope that this program will produce a quantifiable reduction in energy usage.

Fort Collins Roofing: Doing Your Part

Fort Collins Roofing: Energy Efficiency Goes Beyond our Local Breweries Whether you work for one of these breweries or not, there are plenty of things you can do to help make your home more energy-efficient. One of the most exciting parts of our job here at Elite is helping property owners do just that. Aging or damaged roofs can account for excessive amounts of energy waste. From lost heat in the winter to cool air in the summer months, property owners can waste hundreds if not thousands of dollars in energy costs. Beyond the negative impact this can have on finances, the environmental impact can be detrimental. As leading providers of Fort Collins roofing services, we are proud to help property owners repair or replace inefficient roofing systems and therefore reduce their carbon footprints. In addition to replacing or repairing your roof, there are many steps you can take to improve your home’s energy efficiency. Also consider adding insulation, replacing inefficient windows and repairing leaking duct work.
