Your Favorite Solar and Roofing Company Made Thanksgiving Brighter for Nearly 90 Families
Thanksgiving is a favorite time of year for our entire company here at Elite Roofing & Solar. It’s a time of togetherness, where we can gather with our families. It’s a time of thankfulness, where we can reflect on all of the wonderful things happening in our lives. And for our entire team, it’s also a time to give back to our community.
Our Turkey Drive is an annual tradition here at Elite Roofing & Solar, as each year we pitch in to help Volunteers of America bring Thanksgiving dinner to low-income families in our area. This year’s Turkey Drive was a resounding success, as we were able to donate nearly 90 turkeys and hams for the event! Let’s take a look at this event and celebrate our team, our community, and the entire VOA organization.
What Is the Turkey Drive?
The Turkey Drive is an annual event our company participates in here at Elite Roofing & Solar. Each year, we pitch in to acquire as many turkeys as we can to provide Thanksgiving dinners to low-income families throughout our community. The turkeys we donate are distributed through Volunteers of America.
By the Numbers: Nearly 90 Families Supported
We were delighted with the turnout and results from our Turkey Drive this year! Our team came together to acquire about 60 turkeys, the maximum we could get from our chosen grocery providers at once. To help contribute even more to these families in need, we decided to add hams as well, purchasing an additional 28 hams.
Of course, no Thanksgiving dinner is complete without all the fixin’s—so we also donated a large volume of sides like mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, canned veggies, crescent rolls, and more.
All told, our team was able to provide dinners for nearly 90 families in need, and we were very happy with the participation and results this year.
Supporting a Great Organization
Of course, this event wouldn’t be possible without our incredible partners at Volunteers of America. For more than 125 years, VOA has provided key health, housing, and human services for veterans and needy families throughout the United States. With chapters throughout the nation, their local facilities are often key centers for community involvement efforts.
Our local VOA facility accommodates several local food pantries, churches, and Meals on Wheels programs, in addition to volunteer and partnership opportunities like our Turkey Drive. They’re wonderful to work with and they help make this event a treat each and every year for our team.
