Roof Hail Damage Hits Denver, Lakewood, Wheat Ridge, Golden & Surrounding Areas

The 2017 hail storm season came in with a roar this week! The entire Denver metro area was hammered with high winds, rain and hail on Monday, May 8. There have been reports of golf ball sized hail from Lakewood to Wheat Ridge and Golden, residents have reported major hail damage to roofs, windshields and structures. In fact, the Colorado Mills mall in Lakewood sustained such extensive damage that it was closed following the storm and did not open again until Wednesday, May 10. For roughly 15 minutes the mall was pelted with such heavy rain and hail that parts of the roof gave way, allowing rain to seep in and cause up to 3 inches of flooding. Hundreds of cars in the parking lot sustained significant damage as well.

The damage at the Colorado Mills is just one example of the severe wreckage left behind by Monday’s storm. Homeowners and business owners throughout the area are reporting roof hail damage in Denver, Lakewood, Wheat Ridge, Golden and other surrounding communities.
