Unmatched Durability

TPO roofing stands up to the elements. Because the TPO membrane is highly flexible it not only resists damage from building movement it repels damage from puncture, tear and high impact. Available in a variety of thicknesses, TPO membranes are installed mechanically, fully adhered or ballasted. When fully adhered, the adhesive forms a chemical bond with the TPO membrane. Mechanically attached TPO roofing systems are installed using special fasteners. Finally, when ballasted the membrane is laid loose on the roof and sealed on all seams and penetrable areas. Once sealed, a ballast, typically smooth river rock, is laid to hold the membrane in place. Selecting the right TPO roofing installation method is essential to the lifespan of your roof. As experts in the application of TPO roofing membranes, we are prepared to help you determine which is right for your needs.

Proven Lifespan

When installed properly, the lifespan of a TPO roofing system can last from 10 to 20 years. There are many variables that impact the longevity of one of these systems including:

  • Roof slope
  • Environmental conditions
  • Wear and tear
  • Removal of existing roofing materials

A TPO roofing system will last longest if all existing roofing materials are removed prior to installation. In addition roofs with steeper slopes are great candidates for these systems as they tend to last longer. Finally, moderate weather conditions can significantly extend the lifespan of TPO roofs.

Energy Efficiency

Available in a variety of colors, white TPO roofing systems are highly reflective and have therefore been given the coveted title of a ‘cool’ or ‘green’ roof. In fact, the TPO roof exceeds current US energy efficiency standards and is an Energy Star rated system by the US Department of Energy. If you are seeking an energy efficient, eco-friendly commercial roofing system, you will find it in a TPO roof.

TPO roofing systems are an affordable, durable commercial roofing option ideal for many applications. If you would like to learn more about TPO and the other commercial roofing services we offer here at Elite Roofing, we encourage you to contact us today!

TPO, or Thermoplastic Polyolefin, is a single-ply roofing membrane known for its heat-reflective properties and resistance to ultraviolet, ozone, and chemical exposure. Unlike other single-ply roofs like EPDM (rubber roofing) which is black and absorbs heat, TPO is usually white and reflects sunlight, contributing to energy efficiency.

Yes! We are expert TPO roofers and can ensure your roofing system is properly installed to ensure you receive all the benefits that you should with a new TPO roof.

Benefits include excellent durability, resistance to corrosion, and a lower heat absorption due to its reflective surface. TPO roofing is also resistant to mold growth, dirt accumulation, tears impact, and punctures.
A properly installed and maintained TPO roof can last anywhere from 15 to 30 years, depending on environmental conditions and the quality of the installation.
Costs can vary widely based on the region, the complexity of the roof, and the quality of the material. On average, the cost can range from $5 to $9 per square foot installed.
Yes, the reflective nature of TPO roofing material helps reduce cooling costs in warm climates by reflecting solar heat away from the building.
Regular inspections, cleaning to remove debris and dirt, and checks for any seams, flashings, or membrane damage that need repair.
